Mamma Mia! at Centennial Hall

Why see Mamma Mia!?

release your inner dancing queen

Don't miss your local production of the ultimate feel-good musical!

Based around the hit songs of Abba, Mamma Mia! is the ultimate feel-good jukebox musical! Set on a Greek island, this sunny show centers on single mother Donna, whose daughter Sophie is about to get married. Little does Donna know that Sophie has invited three of her mother's former lovers to the wedding, in a quest to find out which one could be her father! Plenty of romantic shenanigans (and sparkly jumpsuits) follow, as well as countless Abba classics, from 'Waterloo,' to 'Knowing Me, Knowing You.'

One of the most successful musicals of all time, Mamma Mia was also adapted into a movie in 2008, (and received its prequel/sequel in 2018) which (despite Pierce Brosnan's singing) became a huge hit worldwide and was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards. It's a guaranteed crowdpleaser, and have even the staunchest Abba critic singing in the aisles!

An Amazing Show

I attended on opening night with my sister, who had seen Mamma Mia on its original tour. We were both just blown away by the talent of the cast, the quality of the sound, and the setting of the magnificent Ohio Theater. The character of Donna is the heart and soul of the show, and I cannot imagine any better Donna than Christine Sherrill. Her vocal power and her emotion when she delivered "The Winner Takes It All" was a showstopper, even if the huge ovation she received did not literally stop the show. The entire cast was wonderful throughout- Tanya (Jalynn Steele) , Sophie (Alisa Melendez), and Sam (Victor Wallace) especially. It was a privilege, and what a fun time--enjoying all of these great ABBA songs in this context. And a joyful and exuberant time was had by all --capped by all of us in the audience singing at the tops of our lungs at the end. Even the cast seemed like they were having as much fun as we were. ... Read more

Great characters who were better actors than some in the movie!

Wonderful casting of the actors! I enjoyed it more than the movie version. It had humor, as well as many touching scenes. The actors’ voices were so strong! Thank you, thank you to the cast for coming out after the finale and singing and dancing to a few of the songs!! We have never seen that in other musicals and they had the whole audience dancing and singing. What a fun time with our daughters! ... Read more

I really did laugh, cry, sing and dance in my seat all in a span of two hours. Thanks for a enjoyable night out with my girlfriends and our daughters! ... Read more
